During his visit President Saleh held talks with King Abdullah II of Jordan and the Egyptian President Mohammed Hosni Mubarak dealt with bilateral relations and fields of bilateral cooperation between Yemen and each of Jordan and Egypt in addition to ways guaranteeing their development and expansion in all fields.

The President's talks also included discussion of issues concerning the Arab and Islamic nation and regional and international developments of common interest.

President Saleh and his Egyptian counterpart Mubarak held on Saturday a closed-door meeting in the Egyptian capital Cairo.

Well-informed sources told Saba that the two Arab Presidents talked over issues of bilateral cooperation ties and ways to develop and expand cooperation between the two countries in various fields, particularly in economic, trade, investment and security fields.

President Saleh and Mubarak also discussed the latest developments and situations in the Arab, regional and international arenas of common concern, particularly the current developments in the Palestinian territories, Iraq and Lebanon as well as the latest developments in Darfur and Somalia and the security of the Red Sea and ways of combating piracy.

The sources said that a number of Yemeni and Egyptian officials attended another meeting co-chaired by President Saleh and President Mubarak in which they discussed the brotherly relations between the two countries and the level of implementation of the agreements, cooperation protocols and memos of understanding signed by the two countries to serve common interests of both countries' peoples.

The talks dealt with the latest developments and the situations in the region, particularly in Palestine and means of coordinating efforts to heal the Palestinian rift and resolve the differences between Fatah and Hamas in order to resume dialogue between the Palestinian factions.

The Yemeni-Egyptian talks focused on the fight against terrorism and ways to secure the international navigation route in the southern region of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden as well as the two countries' efforts to combat piracy.

The two sides' talks included also the current developments in Iraq, Sudan, Somalia and the Horn of Africa.
