Almotamar Net - Minister for Legal Affairs Dr Rashad al-Eassas affirmed Monday that carrying out the process of revising and correcting voter tables that the Supreme Commission for Elections and Referendum (SCER) is to implement in preparation for the upcoming parliamentary elections in Yemen in 2009 is considered a legal stage for any electoral process. It is considered as implementation of the; law on general elections and referendum for the year 2001. Minister al-Rassas clarified the legal importance of that process saying the Yemeni legislator has been keen to carry out revision and amendment of voter tables before holding every election, the election law made it a must that that not electoral process would not be held but after conducting this process as preventive and realistic guarantee for elections and to enhance the democratic process.
