Almotamar.net - A 2-day training course is inaugurated Tuesday for 63 persons in charge of branches of Supreme Commission for Elections and Referendum (SCER). It is part of field procedures for the implementation of the phase of revising and correcting voter tables 2008 in preparation for the parliamentary elections scheduled in Yemen on 27 April 2009.

Member of the SCER Dr Mohammed Abdullah al-Siyani, the head of technical affairs said in a statement to almotamar.net the course aims to provide directors the SCER branches as well as directors for technical and financial affairs at the Commission's branches with necessary guidance for carrying out their tasks and specialties during stages of the electoral process. He also pointed out discussion and overcoming hindrances that may face the Commission's branches while carrying out their tasks.

The training course comes just days before announcing names of chairmen and members of the supervising and major committees taking part in revising and correcting voter tables.
