Almotamar.net - The republic of Yemen has on Thursday called for mustering international efforts to encounter the organised crime. The Yemeni call was in the address given by Yemen's deputy Interior Minister Staff General Saleh Hussein al- Zawari at the 4th session of Fighting Organised Crime Across National Borders Conference held in the Austrian capital Vienna. Yemen and the countries signatory of the international convention and representatives of a number of international organisations.

Al-Zawari reviewed in his address Yemen's efforts in combating organised crime, pointing out that Yemen has endorsed a group of international agreements related to combating the organised crime the latest of which was the United nations Agreement on Fighting the Organised Crime Across National Borders and the UN Agreement on Fighting corruption.

He affirmed that Yemen was keen to embody its commitments included in those agreements in its national legislations , among them the issuance of the law of fighting corruption and the law of tenders and biddings in addition to setting up the Supreme National Anti-Corruption Commission and the Higher Commission for Tenders and Biddings.

Al-Zawari also said the Yemeni government has recently accepted a group of draft laws on fighting money laundering and funding terror, draft law on fighting terror and those laws are on table of the specialised committee at the parliament to finalize measures of approving them. In addition to that the Yemeni Deputy Interior Minister mentioned about the efforts of security apparatuses for fighting drugs smuggling and the successes they achieved in this regard.
