At the opening session for the Arab Ministerial meeting held today in the Arab League premises to follow up the developments in Darfur, al-Qirbi reaffirmed that what is happening in Darfur is an internal affair for Sudan and doesn't require UN forces. It is important to support African Peacekeeping Forces in Darfur, he added.

Moreover, al-Qirbi called to consider the suggestion made by the Sudanese
Government and support it, stressing on the importance of continuous Arab and African efforts to create peace in Darfur.
Arab ministers will also discuss the reconstruction of Lebanon, and the future of peace process in the Middle East.
