Almotamar.net, Saba - Yemen Interior Minister Mutahar Rashad al-Masri on Sunday discussed with the United States ambassador to Yemen Stephen Seche areas of security cooperation between Yemen and the United States of America especially in the field of fighting terror and organized crime.

The US ambassador expressed his hope that the year 2009 would see more of development and enhancement of cooperation between the two countries in various areas of security work.


On the other hand the Yemen Interior Minister on Sunday discussed with the United Kingdom (UK) ambassador aspects of security cooperation between the two friendly countries.

Minister al-Masri and the UK ambassador to Yemen Tim Torlot held talks on combating piracy acts and coordinating international efforts to secure the international navigation in the region.

For his part, the UK diplomat hailed Yemeni achievements in combating crimes and terrorism, praising the success Yemen realized regarding the ban on carrying weapons inside the governorates of the country.

Minister al-Masri valued the UK efforts to boost the cooperation with Yemen, particularly in fields of security and coastguards.
