Almotamar.net - Specialised First Instance Criminal Court in Yemen has on Sunday decided to adjourn the trial of 11 Iranians accused of smuggling a quantity of drugs estimated at one ton and 59 kg to the sitting of Sunday after next in order to enable the prosecution to submit evidence.

In the sitting held Sunday and chaired by Judge Radwan al-Nimr the defendants were faced with the indictment that included accusation of 11 Iranians of bringing one ton and 59 kg of intoxicating hashish the beginning of last year on a boat called Bahzad , coming from the Iranian port of Kanark.

The indictment pointed out that they were caught in the Yemeni regional waters, the coasts of Hasween district, Hadramout governorate and was founding their possession a quantity of drugs stored in the back part of the boat. The indictment accused two of the defendants of taking and possessing intoxicating materials and one-hundred and twenty grammes were found with them for using them.

The General Prosecution demanded trial of the defendants and to give them the severest sentences decided legally. After that the member of the prosecution explained reasons of accusation and a list of evidence. On asking the defendants they denied their possession of the intoxicating materials while the first and second defendants confessed the possession of 120 grammes for their own use and that they were caught in the Yemeni regional waters.
