almotamar.net - The Specialised Appeals Criminal Court in Yemen on Tuesday decided postponement the trial of 13 Iranians accused of illegally bringing 3 tons of drugs to the 3rd of March 2009 so that to enable them to present the petition for their appeal.

At the Courts sitting held Tuesday and chaired by Judge Mohammed al-Hakimi and attended by the General Prosecution a report summarizing the appeal was read out by the court with translation from Arabic language to the Persian.

The court requested the defendants to present their appeal petition and they replied their lawyer would present it and asked postponement of the sitting until their lawyer will be present to present the appeal petition. The court also responded to the defendants request for communicating with the Iranian embassy in Sanaa.

The Yemeni First Instance Court had last November decided the execution of the first defendant Ayoub Mohammed Hout, the imprisonment of the rest of defendants for 25 years and the destroying of the drugs quantity.

The Prosecution charged the defendants of bringing of three tons of drugs and entering with them into the Yemeni regional waters on board of a boat hoisting the Iranian flag.
