Almotamar.net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh on Saturday praised the positive role played by the World Bank WB in supporting the process of development and economic reforms in Yemen.

During his meeting today with Daniela Gressani Vice President of the WB for Middle East & North Africa, President Saleh expressed his thanks and gratitude for the level of cooperation and support the WB offers to Yemen.

On her part Ms Gessani confirmed readiness of the WB to assist Yemen to overcome impact of the world financial crisis. Ms Gressani also praised the steps and measures taken by Yemen in areas of reforms , especially those related to issuing laws pertaining to bidding and tenders , investments and anticorruption in addition to progress achieved towards the wise governance and measures taken in this regard.

She said the WB views with admiration the measures and steps carried out by the government of Yemen in the area of bidding and tenders and anticorruption, pointing out that those steps encouraged the WB for more cooperation with Yemen.
