Almotamar Net - The World Bank WB office in Sana’a started Wednesday its first consultative meetings with participation of representatives for civil society organisations to discuss details related to regional assistance for Yemen strategy. WB office in Yemen announced it would hold consultative meetings, over the period of 11-18 this month, to discuss the new proposal for partnership between IDA and International Finance Corporation IFC as part of the WB support strategy for Yemen for the period 2010-2013.

Almotamar.net - The World Bank WB office in Sana’a started Wednesday its first consultative meetings with participation of representatives for civil society organisations to discuss details related to regional assistance for Yemen strategy. WB office in Yemen announced it would hold consultative meetings, over the period of 11-18 this month, to discuss the new proposal for partnership between IDA and International Finance Corporation IFC as part of the WB support strategy for Yemen for the period 2010-2013.

The WB would involve in the meetings a number of civil society organisations , representatives for international development associations , private and public sector, officials in concerned ministries and representatives fro youth and media sectors.

Thos meetings of the WB come as part of the process for preparing the new strategy based on larger p [participation of different parties and providing the opportunity foe exchange of viewpoints as well as taking into account the lessons learned from the previous support strategy . the meetings will be held in Sana’a and Aden.

Director of the WB office in Yemen said in a press statement obtained by almotamar.net the objective of the proposed programme in the strategy of regional support is represented by facilitating Yemen’s advance towards goals of the millennium development through the continuous implementation of the third five-year plan for social and economic development on alleviation of poverty. That he said requires more cooperation between the government and other parties that include the private sector in order to facilitate influx of investment resources necessary for the interest of all parties of the Yemeni societies.
