Almotamar Net - Kuala Lumpur, Mar. 26-Delegation of the General People’s Congress GPC ruling party in Yemen chaired by Assistant secretary General for Political Affairs and External Relegations Sultan al-Barakani participated Thursday in opening of the conference of the United Malays National Organisation Party (UMNO).

Almotamar.net - Kuala Lumpur, Mar. 26-Delegation of the General People’s Congress GPC ruling party in Yemen chaired by Assistant secretary General for Political Affairs and External Relegations Sultan al-Barakani participated Thursday in opening of the conference of the United Malays National Organisation Party (UMNO).

The GPC delegation would have a session of talks with officials of UMNO for unifying viewpoints and stands of the two parties in addition to the necessity of exchanging visits and coordination of the two parties stances regarding different issues of concern for the two sides.

In a statement to almotamar.net, al-Barakani confirmed he would review stages of the political and organizational development of the GPC and the achievements it has made I various development and democratic aspects as they are a culture embodied in the leadership of the GPC under leadership of president Ali Abdullah Saleh for the enhancement of the language of dialogue between the GPC and all Arab and Islamic political parties and organisations for service of the common interests.

In his last address on Thursday as leader of the UMNO Abdullah Badawi has called on members of the party to support his successor Dato Najib Razak who was elected today to lead UMNO in addition to resist personal assails on his successor in chairmanship of the party.

Abdullah Badawi also welcomed delegations of Arab and foreign countries ruling parties that attended the meeting of UMNO, among them Yemen that participate with a delegation led by Assistant Secretary General of the GPC Sultan al-Barakani.

Members of UMNO party have elected Mr Najib Raze for chairing the party at an earlier time and he will assume the post of Prime Minister of Malaysia on 3 April 2009.
