Almotamar.net, Saba - The Yemen cabinet on Tuesday approved a number of resolutions, agreements and draft laws , among them a report by the Foreign Minister on results of President Ali Abdullah Saleh recent visit to Tajikistan where there was discussion of bilateral relations , areas of cooperation and ways for enhancing and developing them especially in energy and minerals , education, agriculture and health.

Cabinet approved in its meeting chaired by Prime Minister Ali Mohammed Mujawar a protocol of biodiversity conservation and constructing natural protectorate network in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

The protocol aimed to emphasize the protection and conservation for safety and integration of ecosystem and biodiversity in the region of the Regional Organization for the Conservation of the Environment of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden (PERSGA) including protection of endangered species, critical habitats and sites of special scientific interests through adopting strategies to reach those goals.

The cabinet also agreed another protocol for marine environment protection from the negative impacts of the different developmental activities in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

The protocol is based on a group of policies and plans aiming at conserving the natural resources and achieving the balance between the development requirements and the allowed natural resources as well as encouraging the local society participation in biodiversity conservation in the Red Sea region.

The policies also planned to promote the environmental awareness among coast areas' population at all levels and training technical cadres among the population to deal with these policies and to contribute to implement them.

The cabinet ratified a draft of judicial authority law that prepared by a ministerial committee chaired by Deputy Premier for Economic Affairs Abdul Karim al-Arhabi.

The cabinet asked the concerned ministers to finalize the constitutional procedures to issue the law.

The law draft regulates the judicial authority affairs, enhancing its independence and reforming the system of judicial authority.

The project also focuses on separating the chairmanship of the Supreme Judiciary Council and the Supreme Court, as well as reinforcing the ultimate independence of the General Prosecution and its responsibilities according to the constitution and the valid laws.
