According to article 222 of the parliament regulation, the parliament chairmanship is scheduled to issue a statement announcing the amendment within three days.
Thus, the parliamentary blocs have succeeded in finishing the amendment that requires approval of three quarters of parliament members, i.e. 226 MPs out of 301, the total number of the Yemeni parliament seats. Approval of the amendment approves the extension for two years to the tenure of the present parliament.

In the same context the deputy head of the General People�s Congress parliamentary bloc Yasser al-Awadhi said hat the parliament should not extend for itself while MP al-Barti is in prison, calling on chairmanship of the parliament to enlist request of withdrawing confidence from the minister of justice presented on Sunday on the parliament agenda.
