Almotamar.net - The Gulf Cooperation Council GCC Health Misters and Yemen, at the conclusion of their meeting in Qatari capital Doha on Saturday, have approved joint precautionary measures for encountering swine flu in the light of its spread in a number of world countries.

The meeting chaired by Yemen’s Public Health Minister Dr Abdulkarim Rasie, chairman of the current session of the GCC Health Misters, has come out with approval of activating plans of readiness for countering the swine flu as well as continuation in activation of the early warning of the epidemic and the modernization of the national plans in the light of developments coming from the affected states.

The closing statement of the meeting decided depending on the three laboratories in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as reference laboratories for determining the ah1n virus beside the other laboratories depended on by the World Health Organisation WHO. The meeting also approved the setting up of programmes for awareness to inform on this epidemic , the extent of its danger and how it communicate in addition to precautions that must be taken to limit the possibility of the infection and allocation of a website for this purpose.
