Almotamar.net - Authorities at Alab border crossing between Yemen and Saudi Arabia have captured 3 tons of banned agricultural pesticides violating laws, during the past three days as a merchant tried to bring them into Yemen.

Director of Agriculture Bureau in Saada governorate Khalid al-Jabri told almotamar.net that the Quarantine Centre of the Agriculture Bureau at the border crossing seized three tons of agricultural pesticides in searching operations of trucks carrying those pesticides, in cooperation with officials of the crossing. He said the banned pesticides would be returned to the country of origin and incase the importer refused to return the quantity it would be got rid of and destroy it.

It is to be pointed out that concerned authorities at Al-Dafaa border crossing had captured about 55 tons of banned agricultural pesticides during the past January and February.
