Almotamar.net - The US President Barack Obama has congratulated the Muslims in his country and around the world on the Eid Al-Fitr. In a White House statement, almotamar.net received a copy of it, President Obama said, "On behalf of the American people we congratulate the Muslims in the United States and around the world on this happy Eid and Eid Mubarak."

President Obama added that at the time the Muslims in the United States and around the world are concluding the month of Ramadan and celebrating the advent of Eid Al-Fitr he and his wife would like to extend their personal congratulations on this happy occasion.

The American President also pointed out principles of Islam represented in Zakat and said the Eid is an occasion for celebrating the end of 30 days of worshipping but even in this happy occasion , Muslims remember those who are less fortunate , including those affected by poverty , hunger , conflicts and diseases. Throughout the days of the month Islamic communities raise and distribute Zakat al-Fitr so that all Muslims would be able to participate in celebrations of this day.

President Obama also reminded of his previous promises to the Muslims, pointing out that as he said in Cairo his government works for securing that the Muslims will be able to meet their charity commitments, not just during Ramadan month but around the year.
