Almotamar.net - Hudeidah (Yemen) - Unidentified elements yesterday attacked the house of representative of the General People�s Congress (GPC) in the main committee in the district of the seaport, the governorate of Hudeidah Abdullah al-Shamiri whose house came under an abortive storming attempt at one o�clock in the morning of Thursday.

In his statement to almotamar.net, al-Shamiri said the unidentified elements smashed some windows of the house and cut electricity and telephone wires and then hurled stones into the house. He added that caused a state of fear and panic among members of the family. He said 15 minutes afterwards the group fled the place for fear of being identified by neighbors or one of the passers-by. Security authorities are investigating into the incident to know its causes and its perpetrators.
Preliminary results of investigation point out that the motives are political rather than criminal at the backdrop of al-Shamiri work in the committee. He has previously been exposed to several attempted threats by independent candidates and elements of the so-called parties of the Joint Meeting Parties in the city.
