Almotamar Net - Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) Ekmeledin Ihsanoglu on Saturday emphasized the organisations keenness on Yemen unity and sovereignty over its territories, pointing out, in the press conference, held in Sanaa, that Yemen unity, stability and sovereignty of the state over all of its territories comes as priority for the organisation taking into consideration that instability of Yemen is reflected negatively on the region and has effect on world peace.

Almotamar.net - Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) Ekmeledin Ihsanoglu on Saturday emphasized the organisation's keenness on Yemen unity and sovereignty over its territories, pointing out, in the press conference, held in Sana'a, that Yemen unity, stability and sovereignty of the state over all of its territories comes as priority for the organisation taking into consideration that instability of Yemen is reflected negatively on the region and has effect on world peace.

Ihsanoglu made it clear that the OIC would employ all its mechanisms for supporting Yemen proceeding from principles of the new charter of the OIC that emphasizes observation of the national unity of the state and its sovereignty on its territories and non-intervention in internal affairs, respect the special characteristic of each country and rejection all phenomena of violence and terrorism employed for achieving political purposes. The OIC Secretary General said he is confident in wisdom of the political leadership in encountering the challenges Yemen is experiences.

Regarding contribution of the OIC to offering aid and assistance to the displaced due to Saada and Sufyan war , Ihsanoglu said the organisation and its establishments , in cooperation with charity organisations , would send 11 trucks loaded with medical materials , food and others amounting to $3 million . He added that he discussed that with President Ali Abdullah Saleh where je clarified that the organisation intends to erect a camp for the refugees accommodating 5 thousand migrants.

Mr Ihsanoglu indicated that in the extraordinary Islamic Summit a historic decision was taken on equality of the eight Islamic sects, as a first time in the history of contemporary Islam, indicating that decision was unprecedented. It had established to a new stage for "our Islamic world and strongly stands in the dace of any sectarian tendency."

He added that the OIC proved great success in its tackling of the problems of sectarian difference in Iraq when it gathered the Sunni and Shiite leaders for the revival of a new Iraq.
