IRNA - Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh in the city of Mareb on Sunday said use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes is Iran's inalienable right, stressing that no country can deprive Iran from its right.
In a meeting with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Mohammad-Reza Baqeri, the president supported Iran's peaceful nuclear activities.
Yemen's stance has always been based on support for Iran's inalienable right to have access to peaceful nuclear technology, he said.
Pointing to the situation in Lebanon and defeat of the Zionist regime against the Hezbollah, he praised Iran's spiritual support for the Lebanese nation.
The president said Iran has also played a positive role in providing assistance to the Iraqi government and nation and hoped all the Middle East problem would be settled in the near future through joint efforts by the regional states.
He also expressed his country's support for expansion of Tehran-Sanaa ties.
Baqeri, for his part, outlined the latest developments in Iran's nuclear case and its response to a package of incentives offered by world six powers (Group 5+1).
A package of incentives was presented to Iran on June 6 by five permanent members of the UN Security Council -- China, Russia, Britain, France and the United States -- plus Germany (Group 5+1).
Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Larijani presented Tehran's response to ambassadors of the Group 5+1 as well as Swiss envoy who is acting as caretaker of US interests in Iran on August 22.
"Iran presented the necessary response with patience and based on its inalienable international rights and expressed readiness to provide any explanation and hold talks despite the Europe-US resolution against Iran. They also sent our nuclear dossier to the UN Security Council and created an inappropriate political atmosphere," Baqeri said.
He praised the stance of the Yemeni government and nation on the recent developments in Lebanon and the Islamic Resistance, Hezbollah, and stressed the importance of reinforcing unity among all Islamic and Arab states to confront the conspiracies of the West and the Zionist regime in the region.
