Almotamar.net - The government of the United States of America has praised the efforts of Yemen in combating al-Qaeda organisation in the Arabian Peninsula, renewing its commitment to continue supporting these efforts. That came in the wake of the visit to Yemen made by the US ambassador at the State Department for counterterrorism Daniel Benjamin late of last January.

In a press release by the US embassy in Sana�a received by Almotamar.net, the embassy said Ambassador Daniel, during his visit to Yemen on 30-31 last January, discussed areas of cooperation between the United States and Yemen in combating terror.

As part of the existing security consultations between the US and the Yemeni Republic Ambassador Benjamin had met President Ali Abdullah Saleh, Deputy Premier for Defence and Security Affairs, the Foreign Minister and Head of the National Security Apparatus.
