Almotamar.net - France has welcomed the recent ceasefire deal reached between the Yemeni government and the Houthi rebels. The spokesman for the French foreign ministry said this is vey good news about Yemen for the French officials.

He also expressed the hope that the ceasefire would develop to be a way for reaching a lasting settlement of the conflict.

The French official has also called for mobilization of all concerned parities efforts to ensure success of the process of London meeting held on 27 of last January for dealing with the next stage.

Meanwhile, the United nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Mon described the news of ceasefire reached in north Yemen as encouraging.

His spokesman said the Secretary General has expressed his hope that the ceasefire would continue and to provide an opportunity for ending the ongoing conflict in Yemen finally.

The spokesman added that the UN was still calling for the necessity of securing the reach of all humanitarian aid that must be offered to the civilians affected by the military conflict.
