Almotamar.net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh has on Thursday received the visiting Russian President special envoy in the field of international cooperation for fighting terrorism Anatoly Safonov. The Russian envoy carried to President Saleh a letter from Russian President Dmitri Medvedev. The letter deals with bilateral relations and areas of cooperation as well as ways of developing and enhancing them in different political, economic, cultural, security, military and combating terror and piracy areas.

The letter has affirmed Russia�s stand by Yemen and its security, stability and unity. The meeting discussed areas of cooperation existing between Yemen and Federative Russia and pushing them forwards what meets the joint aspirations of the two friendly countries , among them cooperation in security , military and fighting terrorism .

President Saleh praised the Yemeni Russian relations, indicating that they are historical and developing friendly relations.

The President confirmed the keenness on enhancing those relations and cooperation between the two countries at different levels.

President Saleh asked the Russian envoy to convey his greetings to President Medvedev and Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and wishes for them of good health and happiness and ever progress and prosperity for the Russian people.
