Almotamar.net - Secretary General of the General People's Congress (GPC), the ruling party in Yemen Abid Rabu Mansour Hadi received in Sana'a Saturday Head of the American Democratic Institute in Yemen Less Compel and the Institute's Deputy head Heathers.

During the meeting several subjects related to the democratic approach in Yemen and the way of practical handling in this regard in the national arena were disc used.

GPC's Secretary General Hadi pointed out that the GPC is doing all that it can for the safe reaching to the 27th of next April for holding the parliamentary elections in accordance with February 2009 agreement.

Hadi pointed out that indicators sent by the opposition are not in line with the agreement and its articles and conditions and that means there are plans for reshuffling cards and violation of conditions of February agreement and its causes whose aims are to achieve electoral reforms and in different aspects according to a specified agreement.

Mr Hadi has also emphasized that the GPC has been offering all concessions for the sake of consolidating the democratic approach and preserving it on the basis that this approach represents the sole choice for development and progress and coming out of the vertigo of crises.

He said those that complicate matters and reshuffle the cards do affirm that the matters are n longer in their hands and they have become unable to take any decision, indicting that the GPC is committed to the electoral programme before the masses of the people and would be loyal to those commitments whatever the circumstances were.

According to report by the Yemeni news agency the GPC Secretary General has expressed his appreciation for what the American Democratic Institute and the European Union are exerting in helping Yemen stabilize its democratic approach.

For his part the Head of the American Democratic Institute affirmed that the democratic process in Yemen is proceeding in a developing way and firmly, explaining that the Institute was working for helping the success of this orientation which represents a great importance on the road of social and cultural evolvement.

He has expressed his satisfaction over this handling and insistence on this pursuit by the Yemeni political leadership.

The meeting was attended by the GPC Assistant Secretary General Sultan al-Barakani
And Mohammed al-Tayyib, member of the Shoura Council.
