By: almotamar.net - SANA'A- President Ali Abdullah Saleh has granted the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) a sum of 32 million riyals from the General People's Congress (GPC)'s budget, to help them finance their electoral rallies.
Al-Wasat weekly newspaper reported Wednesday Saleh has also granted the Yemeni Socialist Party (YSP) a sum of 25 million riyals to help it finance its members running for the local council elections. The newspaper also mentioned differences erupted as the Islah Party has asked to allocate the 25- million- sum for Faisal Bin Shamlan's electoral campaign, a request rejected by the YSP as it considered the sum has been granted to its candidates.
The al-Wasat newspaper, moreover, quoted from the head of the YSP General Office, Mohammed al-Shutfah, the YSP has received 25 million riyals, and that such a sum has nothing to do with the other sum, 32 million riyals.
Al-Shutfah thanked President Saleh for assisting the YSP especially as such money has been given from the GPC's account.
In an indication to new differences in the JMP, the newspaper reported Mohammed Qahtan, head of Islah Party Political Office, has denied receiving any money.
