By: almotamar.net - AL-MAHRA- The General People's Congress (GPC) held Thursday an electoral rally for its presidential candidate Ali Abdullah Saleh in al-Ghaidha city of al-Mahra governorate.
In the rally, Saleh expressed his happiness to be among the people of al-Mahra governorate, thanking them for the great electoral rally. In his speech, Saleh said, "I shall not talk about what has been achieved in the field of development in this remote governorate. But tomorrow speakers, bearers of the black eyeglasses, will come and say they haven't seen roads, services, or projects: they are what is called the Joint Lying Parties. This joint lying goes by asphalted roads, celebrates in a university or a school, and then says "My brothers, we see no development. This is corruption." University is corruption? Electricity is corruption? Educating and teaching generations corruption? Erasing illiteracy corruption? You, the owners of "terminating corruption" slogans, what is reform after all? You have accumulated great experience in corruption There are good and rational members and leaders in the Yemeni Socialist Party and Islah Party. They can distinguish between bad and right, and shall say yes for leaders, supporters and personals of the GPC on 20 September. I have this news that they will not stand by their leadership. They will say their word, yes for the people, as they know how the country used to be before the 22nd of May.
Now the country is secured, with people not worrying about their dignity, property, thanks to the close union of people. But the owners of black eyeglasses don't know anything when asked about the longest road paved after 1994, number of schools, institutions in al-Mahra governorate, etc. They don't know as their eyeglasses are very dark, living among four walls. Every one of them reads on his own way, and thinks his reading is the correct. Every one of them has one thing in mind, and that is the country is in danger, destruction, and corruption. They don't see anything beautiful. This is their problem, and despite this, we pray for them so that they would run for elections with a calm, agreeable speech and sense of responsibility. From this place, I advise them if they are unable to control their candidates, whether for the presidential or local council elections, they have to tone down their rhetoric and not be agitated. I advise them to stick to their platforms, and when they talk, they shouldn't go beyond them."
Saleh also referred to the establishment of a railroad in Yemen, which will start from al-Mahra. "One may say this is an electoral propaganda, but I never made an electoral propaganda. When I promise to do anything, I fulfill it," he concluded.
