Almotamar.net - Yemeni security authorities in the province of Abyan have arrested one of al-Qaeda suspected elements holding an Arab nationality.

Security sources said Saturday security men manning a security checkpoint in Uqbat Tharaa, Mekiras district captured an Arab national suspected to be affiliate of al-Qaeda organisation called Jaber Ali al-Qifi, 27 years old.

Security Information Centre has that the security checkpoint men arrested the suspect while he was riding a motorcycle, coming from the district of Luder and he was not carrying any documents proving his identity.

Security checkpoint men sad they held the Arab suspect for interrogation.

Members of security checkpoint of Amshaa areas, Luder district on Friday caught one of al-Qaeda organisation elements Salah Ali Abdullah al-Dabani, 20, while he was trying to pass the checkpoint on a motorcycle. They seized in his possession a machinegun, 3 ammunition magazines and a hand grenade.

Luder security apparatuses pointed out that when the suspect was caught he was talking on his mobile phone and the last word he said was �they caught me �and soon al-Qaeda elements opened fire on the checkpoint but that caused no human or material losses.
