Almotamar Net - The Council of Ministers, in its regular meeting chaired by Prime Minister Dr Ali Mohammed Mujawar, approved on Tuesday a draft republican decree on regulating Aden Free Zone (AFZ).

Almotamar.net, Saba - The Council of Ministers, in its regular meeting chaired by Prime Minister Dr Ali Mohammed Mujawar, approved on Tuesday a draft republican decree on regulating Aden Free Zone (AFZ).

The Council instructed the concerned ministers to follow up the completion of the necessary legal procedures to issue the decree.

The draft decree, reviewed by a ministerial committee headed by Minister of Civil Service and Social Security, aims to frame the regulative aspects of the AFZ in light of the Council's decree No.01 for 2010 on the abolition of the General Authority for Free Zones and transferring its obligations to the AFZ.

The decree will promote the main role of the AFZ in boosting the capabilities of the national economy through attracting the economic activities and investments in accordance with the law and the general plan of the State.

The draft decree, which consists of 34 articles divided into four chapters, regulates all aspects of management activity of the Zone and the functions of its board of directors, and its chairman and his deputy, as well as the financial matters.


The cabinet has also referred a draft republican decree on building a centre for rehabilitation of youth and sport leaderships to a ministerial committee chaired by the minister of civil service and securities and the membership of ministers of legal affairs and the youth and sport to review the draft and to present the results to the cabinet for discussion and approval.

The cabinet also endorsed a draft decision presented by minister of waters and environment regarding the Yemen Republic accession to the regional Afro-Euro-Asian agreement of preservation of migrating sea birds.

The agreement works for confirming international cooperation in the protection of the migrating sea birds and preserving their species in regions and their habitats as well as managing human activities that may affect the level of preserving them.

On the other hand the cabinet considered the weekly report by the Minister of Interior on security situations in the Republic of Yemen, crimes, traffic and other incidents reported in all provinces during the period of 24-27 of this month.

The cabinet also considered the report by the Minister of Industry and Trade on results of Yemen�s delegation in the 8th meeting
of negotiations on Yemen accession to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) held in Geneva on 18-24 of this month.
