Almotamar.net, Saba - French President Nicola Sarkozy met on Tuesday with President Ali Abdullah Saleh in Paris. The two presidents discussed means of reinforcing the bilateral relations and the current partnership and cooperation in various fields between the two countries, out of which is cooperation in the areas of economy, security and combating terrorism and sea piracy.

They also thrashed out France role in supporting Yemen within the EU and Friends of Yemen Group on the light of results of New York meeting, in addition to what will be discussed in the coming Riyadh meeting.

The talks dealt with situations in the Middle East and efforts of settling peace as well as situations in Somalia and the Horn of Africa.

President Sarkozy pointed out to the uniqueness of the Yemeni-French relations, affirming that Yemen is an important partner for France and France will always support Yemen in development and counterterrorism.

He affirmed that stability of Yemen is crucial not only for France but also for all the world countries.

For his part, President Saleh praised the developed Yemeni-French relations and the French support for Yemen, emphasizing interest of Yemen to reinforce its friendship and partnership relations with France.

He valued the supportive stances of France for Yemen's unity, security, stability and democratic and developmental process.
