Almotamar Net - The Vice-President of Yemen Abid Rabu Mansour Hadi has said Wednesday the 14 October Revolution in 1963 was the most important historical event occurring in Yemen and is considered one of the great liberation revolutions in the world. As much as it had achieved the full independence of of south Yemen as had at the meantime its effect in changing balances of power in the world as it represented a end of the colonialist era when the control was of the empire which was described as the sun did not set on it.

Almotamar.net - The Vice-President of Yemen Abid Rabu Mansour Hadi has said Wednesday the 14 October Revolution in 1963 was the most important historical event occurring in Yemen and is considered one of the great liberation revolutions in the world. As much as it had achieved the full independence of of south Yemen as had at the meantime its effect in changing balances of power in the world as it represented a end of the colonialist era when the control was of the empire which was described as the sun did not set on it.

In the editorial of the Yemeni newspaper Al-Wahda on Wednesday the vice-president added it is fair to say that the 14 October revolution was an extension to earlier struggle and great sacrifices began on the first day when
First colonialists began landing in Aden on 19 1839. The Yemenis confronted on that day those colonialist troops and offered a group of martyrs and continued in a continuous revolution the peak of which was on 14 October 1963 and managed to wring out the full independence within four years.

In his editorial Hadi said while celebrating the 47th of 14 October revolution, it is a celebration of the great deeds that must remain alive in he minds and conscience of the Yemeni generations to derive from them the feeling of greatness and self-confidence and to learn lessons in loving the homeland pay respect to the martyrs and the living ones of the people who offered exert utmost of effort for serving their homeland and gains of their people.

He said among the lessons to be learned is the ones of the Yemeni revolution reflected by unity of the people which has been a witness that the Yemenis wherever they exist there is the unity of their struggle for the liberation from the imamate in the north and colonialism in the south. That was seen in the participation of the brothers in the south and vice versa in the sites of struggle and the revolution.

He said the 14 October revolution got mightier in the unity of this people and therefore was the unity project a more important motivator of its strength and thus defeated the colonialism and unified Aden with 23 sheikhdoms and emirates in a national framework. The unity project remained a basis component of its essence and proved that in meeting of the two Yemeni revolutions and their moving hand in hand towards ending g the division and achieving the Yemeni unity on 2 May 1990.

Hadi said the celebration of October revolution is a celebration of accomplishments that were achieved and others achieving o the ground in all areas. Those achievements are done despite limitedness of resources and the hindrances the forces of terrorism and the outlaws intentionally make them , adding under the leadership of President Ali Abdullah Saleh � we are able to face those forces , end their evils and move ahead on the road of development.
