Almotamar Net - Local sources in the Yemeni province of Abyan revealed Monday that 15 persons, believed to be from al-Qaeda organisation, who were taking some mountains of the districts of Modia and Loder in Abyan province as strongholds, surrendered themselves to the governor of Abyan province Ahmed al-Maysari.

Almotamar.net - Local sources in the Yemeni province of Abyan revealed Monday that 15 persons, believed to be from al-Qaeda organisation, who were taking some mountains of the districts of Modia and Loder in Abyan province as strongholds, surrendered themselves to the governor of Abyan province Ahmed al-Maysari.

Thee sources added that among those persons, six of them were described of extremism and were on top of the list of security-wanted elements.

While official sources have not confirmed the reports of surrendering, local sources in Abyan told Almotamar.net the governor of Abyan has in the past days held intensive meetings with sheikhs of tribes and social personalities who intervened and held direct contacts with those elements for convincing them to surrender themselves.
