Almotamar.net - The Specialised Penal Court in Yemen has sentenced Monday to 8 years imprisonment to each of Ali Nasser Hussein al-Banaa and Abdulmuhsin Muhsin Mohammed Abu Dunya for blasting an oil pipeline in the district of Khawlan in the province of Sana’a.


The sentence, issued in the court’s hearing sitting Monday and chaired by Judge Muhsin Alwan , stipulated condemnation of the two defendants and punishing them to 8 years in jail and confiscation the materials related to the case, seized with them.

The prosecution had accused the two defendants of causing a blast to state property of public utility as they carried out digging on the oil pipeline in tRas Al-Urqiub. Al-Aroush area, Khawlan district in the province of Sana’a on 30 December 2009 with the intention of blasting it and puling explosive material which led to its explosion and caused heavy material damage to the oil pipeline.

The indictment mentioned that the second defendant obtained explosives in his house in Maydoun village, Khawlan district of Sana’a province.
