By: Mohammed Taher - HADHRAMOUT- In an electoral rally held Saturday in Hadhramout governorate, the General People's Congress (GPC)'s presidential candidate Ali Abdullah Saleh praised the stance of the people of Hadhramout in supporting the legislative forces during the secession war of 1994.
" I am happy to address you in this rally to which you come from the desert, districts, valley, leaving behind your trading stores," Saleh said before thousands of people who attended the rally.
"We shall not forget the great stances of the people of Hadhramout during the secession war of 1994 as they stood by the legitimate state, security, stability. The government has ordered to Yemenize employments in oil companies working in Yemen by 90 percent in Hadhramout, Marib and Shabwa during the next year," he added.
According to Saleh, 100.000 yards will be given to the farmers of Hadhramout valley, expressing his thanks to the role of expatriates in development and creating a partnership between private sector and public sector to achieve inclusive development in the governorate. He announced Hadhramout will be Yemen's financial and economic center in the next years, ordering local authorities to complete procedures of transferring lands to citizens in accordance with legal documents.
Saleh, moreover, made it clear that he has ordered the government to solve unemployment problems, and that in the next year youths will get job opportunities through the investments and loans. "Yemen will receive a USD 20 billion loan from China and USD 8 billion from Gulf countries. By this Yemen will make a remarkable leap and employ laborers," he stated.
"We have confidence in our masses that came to this place on their own accord, out of love for security and stability. On 20 September we will vote for those in whom we put our confidence and who are honest and faithful," Saleh concluded.
