Almotamar.net - Fire-fighting men at Sana’a International Airport managed Thursday to extinguish fires erupted in one of the engines of a Yemeni fright plane C-130 belonging to the Yemeni Air Force as it run out of the runway and fell on one of its wings and fire erupted in one of its engines.

Chairman of the Public Civil Aviation Authority Hamid Faraj told the Yemeni news agency Saba the airplane that arrived from Jordan capital Amman went out of its runway after its landing at the airport and that caused it to fall on one of its wings and outbreak of fires in one of the engines.

He pointed out that the airport was closed down for a short time and closed the runway on which the plane was and completed full control of the fire the moment it erupted. The official affirmed there were no casualties because of the incident and the airport was re-opened and air traffic was working normal.

Official Faraj added that investigation would be opened by the Yemeni air force and civil aviation to know causes of the incident and the result would be announced on time.
