Almotamar.net - The Yemeni government has drawn up several new policies and measures to address the imbalance between supply and demand of workforce at the Yemeni labour market and requirements of the Gulf labour marker.

The annual economic report for 2009, recently issues by the ministry of planning and international cooperation, has revealed the government intention to implement accurate national policies aimed to conform to labour supply to needs of domestic development and requirements of the Gulf market and hat is through focusing on both quantitative and qualitative sides.

The report, the Almotamar.net obtained a copy, mentioned that correcting the i9mbalance between supply and demand of labour force would be by following several policies and measures that would create harmony between the educational outputs and future needs of labour market, on the one hand, and rehabilitation of the present workforces, in conformity with local and Gulf needs, on the other.

The quantitative conformity is represented by harmony of outputs of education and training with areas of work and requirements of employment through providing information on the labour market and characteristics of supply and demand for work forces and directing those heading for education and training to join educational institutions in the light of the needs of the labour market, along with taking into consideration their abilities and willingness.

As for the qualitative conformity, according to the report, it is represented by harmony and skills of graduates with requirements of the labour market, and that is to be done through conducting researches and studies are concerned with analyzing aspects of strength and weakness , requirements of improvement and development, preparation of a national programme for rehabilitation of graduates to be in compatible with requirements of the domestic and Gulf labor markets and the establishment of a university specialized information technology .

The report also pointed out the importance of serious and joint cooperation by Yemen and the Gulf countries so that to carry out many of orientations that must be taken for unifying the labour market of Yemen and the Gulf and facilitating accommodation of Yemeni labour in the Gulf.
