By: Mohammed al-Haidari - SANA'A- Ministry of Culture has confiscated around 3,000 unlicensed compact discs (CDs) since the beginning of the presidential campaign, Abdul-Malik al-Qatta, manager of Printed Matter and Authorship Sector, has said.
In a statement to almotamar.net, al-Qatta' said the CDs were seized from street vendors and some stores in Sana'a, Taiz, al-Hudeidah, and Aden. Most of those CDs include bad words that insult some individuals, he added.
The Supreme Committee for Elections and Referendum accuses the Joint Meeting Parties of violating the election publicity regulations and issuing unlicensed cassettes and CDs for the election campaigns.
Hashem Ali, Deputy Minister of Culture, said the Islah Party deliberately spread s propaganda cassettes and CDs among street vendors so that official authorities cannot seize them.
