Almotamar.net - Secretary General of the Yemeni Institute for Democracy Development (YIDD) Ahmed al-Soufi announced Saturday the YIDD is ready to launch a debate between the General Peoples Congress (GPC) and the Joint Meting Parties (JMP) to discuss all the issues on the national arena.

In his press conference in Sana’a on Saturday al-Soufi clarified the debate would be objective and deal with all the national issues, mainly the dialogue, constitutional amendments and holding the elections in addition to that it would bring closer of both the GPC and parties of the JMP to those issues, the reading of the political scenes from several perspectives and reaching an agreement serving the homeland’s higher interest.

He pointed out that the YIDD adoption of this debate aims to send a message t the world that democracy in Yemen renews its feature. He added it would be an opportunity for the political work factions for facing each other and to reveal each other’s views in front of the public concerning the opinion concerning the pivotal and major issues in Yemen.

Al-Soufi revealed that response to the call of the Institute for the debate was received with varied levels of enthusiasm by the GPC and the JMP.

Moreover al-Soufi considered February agreement between the GPC and the JMP as aggression on democracy in Yemen.
