Almotamar.net - President Ali Abdullah Saleh presided Saturday evening a joint meeting of the General Committee of the General People’s Congress (GPC) ruling part y in Yemen and the Cabinet where there was consideration of many organizational issues and developments in the national and Arab arena.

The meeting studied the political, economic and security developments and results of the plenary meeting held Friday evening and included the National Defence Council , a number of political leaderships and the Higher Security Committee where were taken many of arrangements related to improvement of wages and salaries of employees of the state and members of the armed forces and security in the manner raising the minimum level of wages and launching bonuses following carrying out the third phase of the strategy of wages and salaries in addition to increment of resources and development of revenues and the executive measures the government has taken following the decisions taken.

The meeting emphasised the necessity of giving the first priority to development of local and central revenues in the work of the higher economic council and making this subject permanent in its agenda and the regulation of the meeting of the council monthly.

The meeting has also considered the undeclared until now stance of the Joint meeting Parties (JMP) concerning the historic initiative announced by the President of the republic in his speech in the joint meeting of the parliament and the shoura council on 2 February 2011 , whose elements included all demands which were called by parties of the JMP it included a package of political, economic and social reforms and the call for resuming the dialogue between the GPC and the JMP through the quartet committee formed of them under entrustment of the President of the republic within the frame of keenness on accord and understanding and achievement of the higher national interest.

The meeting asked the JMP to define it stand and to respond to the initiative that received a national and international welcome, away from any procrastination in dealing with this initiative and not to waste the time as necessitate by the higher national interest and avoiding the homeland to reach a state of political deadlock that pushed the homeland to climates of tension and damage to interests of the homeland and the citizens.

The meeting stressed the necessity of adopting sense of national responsibility in the keenness on success of the serious and responsible dialogue that achieves the higher interest of the homeland and to avoid it falling in the evil of sedition and anarchy and to safeguard its security , stability and gains and accomplishments and national constants.

The meeting praised the experience of he sons of the Yemeni people of vigilance and awareness and the keenness they displayed in facing all the calls aimed at supporting the sedition and dismemberment and their repelling of all acts of chaos, violence and sabotage and for keeping the homeland’s security, stability, unity and the social peace.

The President of the republic informed the meeting on the content of the contacts he made Saturday evening with General Mohammed Tantawi, the Chairman of the Supreme Military Council in Egypt, which is currently assuming power I Egypt in the wake of the developments it witnessed lately.

The meeting expressed anew Yemen’s respect of the will of the Egyptian people and their choices of freedom, democracy and building a their better future, expressing its trust of ability of the brethren in Egypt and command of the Supreme Military Council in embodying all aspirations of the Egyptian people in security, stability and preparation of the climates that enhance their capabilities for realizing renascence and advancement.

The meeting pointed out the political, intellectual and promising leadership capabilities possessed by the Egyptian people which by their cooperation and joining forces would be able to overcome all problems and challenges and to move to the better future where values of freedom , rules of practicing democracy and going ahead towards building and development can be stabilized in the way realizing al the aimed for aspirations the Egyptian people and foiling all plots of sedition and sabotage so that Egypt would remain a pioneering a school in achieving the great civilized accomplishments.
