Almotamar.net - Sana’a-The Head of the Information Office at the General People’s Congress (GPC) Tareq al-Shamy has affirmed on Sunday that the presence in Riyadh by the GPC or the opposition comes in response to the calls by the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia aimed at resolving the political crisis in Yemen. He pointed out that the GPC and President Ali Abdullah Saleh have many times have emphasised there must be a dialogue on bases and principles.

Al-Shamy said the principles announced by the foreign Ministers at the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for preserving the unity, security and stability “we are with them and the Yemeni people are with them so that there would be dialogue on different mechanisms,” refusing the talk about any thing else outside the constitution. He said, “But a group and a minority come to demand stepping down outside the framework of the constitution, this matter the people refuse.”

The Head of the Information Office at the GPC wished that the brothers in the GCC would exert big efforts with leaderships of the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) to make them abide by the dialogue and sit at the dialogue table for discussing all the issues.

Al-Shamy added,” Our meetings are continuous with all organisations and friends and we call on all to exert and effort with the brothers in the JMP t convince them to respect the will of the people, “it is not possible in any event staging a coup on the constitution of an existing state and to “torpedo” this constitution to satisfy a small group.

He has affirmed that he Yemeni people have expressed their opinion that they are with the constitution and with democracy and they refuse turning against it.

Addressing Al-Jazeera TV. Channel, al-Shamy said,” If you were looking with one eye, this is up to you but I hope hat you look at the marches and demonstrations that happen in the capital and all the provinces daily and as happened on last Friday , all of them are against the coup against the constitution and are with the constitutional legitimacy.” He added as for what has been said about the issue of the mixing, they were the speeches in the past whether by the Islah elderships or the rest that are connected with them, explaining they were against the mix and refused to have policewomen and refused co-education at universities and primary, and secondary schools and when they have come to the sit-in square they issued opinions in that this is jihad.

Al-Shamy affirmed that the GPC encourages the woman and is with fighting corruption and extremism “we hope the woman would unveil her face and to go t those squares.” he added that the GPC is with departure of the corrupt and the criminals, there should be a distinction between the corrupt and the criminals and the extremists on the one hand and the ones that are keen on security and stability of the homeland.
