Almotamar.net - Sana’a-President Ali Abdullah Saleh has on Thursday reiterated his welcoming of the good offices and efforts being exerted by the brethren in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states for solving the crisis in Yemen.

During his meting in Sana’a on Thursday the visiting Secretary General of the GCC Dr Abdul-Latif al-bin Rashid al-Zayani, President Saleh confirmed the positive dealing with these efforts and endeavors in he way achieving the interest of Yemen and its security and stability and unity and serve security and stability in the region.

In the meeting, the Secretary General of the GCC conveyed the vision of the GCC Foreign Ministers for solving the crisis in Yemen in the light of the discussions they have held lately with each of the delegation of he General People’s Congress (GPC) and its allies of parties of the National Democratic Alliance in Abu Dhabi and the delegation of the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) held in Riyadh.

The meeting has also discussed the existing cooperation between Yemen and he GCC and developments in the region.

The meeting was attended by Speaker of the parliament Yahya al-Raie, the Political Advisor to the President Dr Abdul Karim al-Eryany, the Foreign Minister in the Yemeni caretaker government Dr Abu Bakr al-Qirbi, the UAE ambassador to Yemen Abdullah al-Mazroui, and the Kuwaiti ambassador to Yemen Fahd Saad al-Maye.

The GCC Secretary General al-Zayani and his accompanying delegation arrived in Sana’a Thursday on a short visit to Yemen to hold a meeting with President Saleh for discussing recent developments in Yemen in the framework of contents of the GCC initiative for solving the current Yemeni crisis.
