Almotamar.net - SANAA- General People’s Congress (GPC)’s candidate for the presidential elections Ali Abdullah Saleh described Wednesday the platform of Faisal Bin Shamlan, the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP)’s presidential candidate as irritable rather than electoral and came as a platform of altercation and void of seriousness. He wondered how to lead a country with five platforms, in an indication to the five parties that nominated Bin Shamlan.

In a television interview Al-Jazeera satellite channel conducted with him Wednesday Saleh affirmed Yemen cannot be ruled by five heads, recollecting failure of the previous partners in power, the Islah (Yemeni Congregation for Reform Party) and the Socialist Party in managing the state. He clarified that the Islah party tried to occupy positions of the Socialist in the state institutions after the secessionist war in 1994.
Mr. Saleh considered the JMP’s candidate Faisal Bin Shamlan as a victim of those parties which were unable to present one of their leaders as a candidate for the presidency.
In his response to presenter of program “Without Boundaries” Ahmed Mansour, the GPC’s candidate said the tense address of the JMP has provoke the Yemeni masses who practically replied by their support for the GPC candidate, adding “those parties could have won had they presented a reasonable address.”

With regards to fairness of the elections on the 20th of this September Saleh affirmed they will be secure, transparent and fair s well as under international and local observation in addition to joint overseeing by the political that have observers and members in running the election. He pointed out that it is usual that the political forces expecting their failure to speak about rigging results of the elections as a pre-justification of their defeat.
