Almotamar.net - The United States of America embassy in Sana’a has announced the arrival of food assistance to Yemen at a value of $10 million presented by the American people to World Food Programme via the USAID.

In a press release by Washington embassy, received by Almotamar.net, pointed out that the food aid would contribute to support 416000 persons in Saada and Hardh area in Hajjah province.

The food material, estimated at 6.300 metric tons , would contribute to the operation of World Food Programme ‘ for emergency food assistance for affected persons due to the rebellion in north Yemen’ , which is a programme aims to meet food security to around 300.000of domestic migrants and more than 100.000persons of the affected because of the Houthi sedition there.

The US embassy said it has supervised up to date of this year the allocation of around $35 million for Yemen for emergency and humanitarian cases.

Moreover, the release pointed out that the food aid that the US government and with partnership with local and international organisations , provided emergency medical supplies , shelter, waters and sewage for the needy beneficiaries all over the country , including the recent migrants from Zanjibar city. It added that the embassy team in the country would remain to provide more of support when needed.
