Almotamar.net - Sana’a- Yemen Vice President Abed Rabou Mansour Hadi received in Sana’a Wednesday the visiting US Assistant Secretary of State and his Assistant and reviewed a number of issues and subjects related to what is taking place in the national arena, especially since the aggression on the Presidential House Mosque where President Ali Abdullah Saleh and senior leaderships of the state and the government were performing Friday prayers. He also pointed out to the measures, decisions and directives that were taken immediately.

The Vice President indicated that the priority of those decisions was the immediate ceasefire, opening roads and streets, evacuating gunmen from the capital, alleviating congestion and anger and ending directives of revenge.

The Vice President has also talked on the nature of contacts and consultations at various local, regional and international levels, expressing in this regard his great appreciation of the United States of America that took the initiative from the very beginning to communicate a matter which indicates depth of the relations and ties between the two friendly countries.

Hadi has affirmed that interest of the American President Obama personally in the sisterly and friendly countries for overcoming the acuteness of tension in Yemen had greatly helped to overcome the dangerous stages.

Hadi said the cooperation between Yemen and the United States has been achieved particularly in relation to combating terror and contribution to different required assistance, pointing out o the crisis which Yemen is suffering in different aspects in the present circumstances.

The US Assistant Secretary of State has expressed his happiness for this meeting, indicating that he has been entrusted with this visit by the American administration to affirm the resolute condemnation of the bombing crime that targeted al-Nahdain Mosque at the Presidential House, wishing for all quick recovery and consolation for the martyrs’ families.

He said they always condemn violence and terror with their forms , pointing out that the American administration highly appreciates what Abed Rabou Mansour Hadi has shouldered of responsibilities , at the top of which the ceasefire, opening roads and driving gunmen out of the cities as well as his meetings with the opposition and the youth as well.

The US official also emphasized that the American administration would support all measures to be taken for security, stability and unity of Yemen and all that serves interests of its people. He pointed to the good results realized so far and valuing the heading for the aspired for success and calling on all Yemeni parties to the constructive dialogue and avoiding their homeland from woes and slips of unwanted consequences.

The meeting was attended by the US ambassador to Yemen and the Political Attaché at the embassy.
