By: Aref Abu Hatem - SANA'A- A number of civil society organizations called on the Yemeni people to stand by the General's People's Congress (GPC)'s presidential candidate Ali Abdullah Saleh in the September elections.

Fifteen civil organizations said they are confident that the Yemeni people will prove their being loyal and sensible on 20 September when they vote for Ali Abdullah Saleh.
In their statement, of which almotamar.net obtained a copy, the organizations said the county has witnessed great achievements during Saleh's reign at the political, social and economic levels. In spite of the challenges the country have faced, these achievements have been realized due to the wise experience of President Saleh, the statement reads.

The organizations, moreover, expressed their satisfaction with the process of elections, as well as the democratic atmosphere in the country. They called on political parties to run for elections in a transparent, fair manner, sticking to the national principles.

The civil society organization also condemned the terrorist acts that targeted the oil and gas installations in the governorates of Marib and Hadramout.
