The Cabinet reviewed on Sunday executive steps to carry out the 20 points proposed by the National Dialogue Conference's (NDC) preparatory technical committee and the 11 points approved by the NDC's Southern issue team concerning the trust-building measures.

In an extraordinary meeting chaired by Prime Minister Mohammed Salem Basindwa, the cabinet discussed the steps proposed by the ministerial committee formed by the cabinet in July to implement the remaining of the 20 and 11 points.

Besides the timetable and bodies suggested to implement the remaining points, the proposed executive steps include establishing a fund for victims' compensation and damage reparations and release all detainees in custody of the southern peaceful movement, Sa'ada wars, the youth popular peaceful revolution and all people illegally detained and punish those who are responsible for detention. In addition, consider the victims of wars of 1994 and Sa'ada as martyrs and treat the injured at the government's expense.

The steps also include the abolition the culture of glorification of civil wars and calls for revenge and political retaliation, and stop sectarian and communal and regional provocation, as well as the formation of an independent and impartial inquiry committee that meets the international standards for investigating human rights violations occurred in 2011.

After extensive discussions, the cabinet called the ministerial committee to accommodate the remarks of the cabinet's members on proposed steps and to submit them again in its final draft to the cabinet in the next meeting for final discussion and approve the required actions
