almotamar.net - As part of Local to Global activities- Every One Campaign, Save the Children in partnership with Tawasal Foundation and in coordination with Ministry of Health conducts a workshop on Child Right and Advocacy for Tawasal Partner- Hodeidah 8-9 September 2013. 25 participants will be trained in advocacy and Child Right. Fatima Al-Ajel, the Advocacy, Communications and Policy Manager in Save the Children International stated that the outcome of this workshop is to set up an advocacy plan for the partner so they know how to advocate for Child Right to Survival and raise the Health and Nutrition profile to high level and bring the decision makers attention to the importance of improve the Health and Nutrition situation in Yemen.
This workshop is part of Save the Children global campaign that was launched in Yemen in 2010 and aims to redouble efforts to ensure that Millennium Development Goal 4 – a two-thirds reduction in under-five mortality – is achieved on target by 2015. The Yemen country programme launched the EVERY ONE campaign in 2010 and has developed a strategy for Child Survival, working with Ministry of Public Health and Population and local communities to improve health and nutrition across the area where we work. Most of our health and nutrition work is based around our emergency interventions. Save the Children is operating in eight governorates of Yemen with our Child Rights, Child Protection, Education, WASH, Health, Nutrition and Food Security projects.
