Some Arab delegations arrived in Sanaa on Sunday to take part in the Regional Conference on Asylum and Migration from the Horn of Africa to Yemen to kick off on Monday.

almotamar.net - Some Arab delegations arrived in Sana'a on Sunday to take part in the Regional Conference on Asylum and Migration from the Horn of Africa to Yemen to kick off on Monday.

The arrivals include the Djiboutian delegation headed by Interior Minister Hasan Omar Mohammed and the Bahraini delegation headed by Undersecretary of Foreign Ministry Hamad Ahmed Amer.

For the same purpose, a delegation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) headed by the Deputy Director of international security cooperation at the Interior Ministry Mohammed Ali al-Shamsi arrived in Sana'a.

The Regional Conference on Asylum and Migration from the Horn of Africa to Yemen in Sana'a will take place in Sana'a from 11 � 13 November 2013.

It is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

The conference aims to develop a regional plan of action to address the challenges related to mixed migration and influx of refugees from the Horn of Africa and its impact on Yemen and the States of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

Many countries, regional, international and non-government organizations participate in the conference. The participating countries are Ethiopia , Somalia, Djibouti, Eritrea, Saudi Arabia, the UAE , Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Germany, United Kingdom, Italy, the Netherlands, France, Sweden, Denmark, the USA and Japan.

The organizations include the Arab League (AL), GCC, the African Union, Sana'a Forum, the European Union (EU), International Organization for Migration, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), UK Department for International Development (DFID), International Maritime Organization (IMO) the World Bank (WB), the International Committee of the International Red Cross (ICRC), Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), Danish Refugee Council (DRC) and many other non-organizations.

Several UN bodies and organizations partake in the Conference such as, United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), UNHCR, the World Food Programme (WFP), the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations Fund for Population (UNFPA), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Office of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
