almotamar.net - President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi on Tuesday said that China was one of the key supporters to the reunification of Yemen on 22 May 1990.

"We, in Yemen, support China's unity … and this is a consistent policy of Yemen," the President said in an interview with Xinhua, the official press agency of China.

He expressed his appreciation of the Chinese positions in support of Yemen so as not to be steered towards a civil war during the 2011crisis.

Concerning his visit's agenda, Hadi said that many economic issues would be talked during his meetings with the senior Chinese officials, topped by the electricity and deepening seaports, especially the port of Aden, in addition to topics of oil and gas exploration.

"We have very much hope that we achieve great success in the talks for a sophisticated partnership and elevating the friendly relationship between the two countries to a broader and more comprehensive horizon."

With regard to terrorism, the President said terrorism has become an international, disturbing and intercontinental phenomenon, which required a broad international cooperation to be eliminated.

He pointed to the importance of counter unemployment and poverty, saying that creating job opportunities for youths will save them from being taken to pitfalls and ominous mazes as a result of the extreme conditions they experience.

On the relationship with the Gulf Cooperation Council's (GCC) countries, the President said "We are in one area and we support them and they support us. Yemen bears a lot of difficulties and troubles in the way of his defense of the region, as it is the southern gate to the Gulf region, especially in combating the smuggling of arms, drugs, piracy and terrorism."

Hadi talked about the National Dialogue Conference (NDC) which is about to conclude in Yemen, saying it is a civilized unique phenomenon gathered all political, societal and cultural forces to discussed all problems in the country and yield with the outcomes that meet the Yemenis' ambitious.

He valued highly the international and UN attitudes in support of Yemen during the 2011 crisis.
