Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday granted Yemen 100 million Chinese Yuan (CNY) as a gift on the occasion of the President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi's visit to China.
In a Yemeni-Chinese official talk session held in Beijing chaired by the two countries' Presidents, Jinping announced also 50 million CNY as a gift to the Yemeni Ministry of Defense and 200 million CNY as a long-term interest-free loan to Yemen.
The Chinese President reiterated the full support to Yemen for reconstruction and providing various economic and technical assistances.
"China will provide all forms of support for Yemen � and provide assistance in fields of electricity, telecommunications, infrastructure, and will help to renovate the Friendship Hospital, complete the construction and equipping of the National Library, grant scholarships and support public and technical education," Jinping said.
He addressed President Hadi saying "Your visit to China will achieve another quantum leap and will enhance the mutual relations," confirming that he will visit Yemen at President Hadi's invitation at the earliest opportunity.
The Chinese President underlined that he is watching closely the developments on Yemen since the outbreak of the crisis, praising the great efforts of President Hadi's to tackle the difficult situation in Yemen.
He indicated to the deep-rooted and worthwhile relations between Yemen and China, which has begun since the 19th century, when the two countries started commercial exchange at the level of silk, incense and frankincense.
"Today, we will advance the bilateral relations to new and wider horizons," He said.
Jinping hoped a better future to Yemen via the political settlement and national dialogue's desired outcomes in order to achieve the Yemeni people's aspirations, underscoring again the China's support for the political process in Yemen that will realize the desired change as the Yemeni people chosen for its future and coming generations.
President Hadi highly appreciated the Chinese aid to Yemen and its position in support of the Yemeni people during the crisis as well as the unity and stability of the country.
He confirmed Yemen's position of supporting the Chinese unity and rejecting any form of separation.
He indicated to the tough conditions and multiple risks Yemen has suffered from since the eruption of the crisis in early 2011, saying "At the height of the crisis, Yemenis moved from the barricade of conflicts to the national dialogue with the participation of all partisan, political, societal and cultural forces to draft a new social contract based on good governance, justice, freedom, equality and the distribution of power and wealth."
Hadi pointed that hopes are pinned that we build together a broad partnership relations, saying that there are numerous prospects for partnership and investment in infrastructure and extractive industries areas.
"Yemen is still a virgin land and there is commercial quantities of oil, gas, iron, cement and minerals in addition to fisheries, tourism and other areas" waiting for being utilized, he said.
He welcomed the Chinese investment, accentuating that the Chinese companies will receive all care and facilities.
After that holding the summit, the two presidents attended ceremonies of signing two cooperation agreements in fields of economic and development, and Education, Higher Education and the Technical Education.
