Xinhua - Sanaa, Sep 17 (Xinhua) Four Al Qaeda members were arrested in Yemeni capital, a day after security forces foiled two terror attacks on oil installations.
Interior Minister General Rashad al-Alimi said the Saturday arrests also led to the seizure of 200 kg of explosives.
Yemen thwarted two attempted attacks Friday targeting an oil storage facility at the Dubba Port and an oil refinery in Maarib. Four suicide bombers and a security guard were killed in a gun battle.
Alimi said the foiled bombings were designed to undermine Yemen's economic development and to cause an ecological catastrophe.
The attacks came days before the country's presidential and municipal elections scheduled for Wednesday.
