almotamar.net - The Arab League (AL) and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) on Thursday condemned the terrorist attack targeted the building of the Defense Ministry's Hospital (al-Ordhi) in Sana'a.

The attack led to killing and wounding a number of military personnel.

In their statements issued today, the AL and GCC's General Secretariats described the attack as a heinous cowardly crime, which is inconsistent with all the religious and humanitarian values and principles.

They said that the attack aims to destabilize Yemen's stability and security and to obstruct the political solution, expressing confidence that the perpetrators of the attack will not go unpunished.

The AL and GCC underscored their position in support of Yemen's leadership, government and people and of all measures taken to maintain the security and stability of Yemen. They also extended condolences to the families of the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

Early today, a suicide bomber detonated his explosives-laden car at Defense Ministry building of the al-Ordhi Hospital of the Defense Ministry's Complex, according to an official at the Defense Ministry.

He added that a car carrying a number of armed men entered the building after the explosion and exchanged fire with the soldiers, confirming that the situation is under control and that the majority of the armed men were killed within the complex.
